About this coffee
Every now and then, we take a moment to sit back, sip a cup of coffee, and be thankful. Coffee is a wildly poetic, volatile, and delicious thing -- families across the world count on the tiny fruit for their livelihood; human hands pick it from trees, stuff it in burlap bags, sift through it in roasting rooms. That we get to play a part in the life of a coffee fruit -- and in the lives of other humans -- is remarkable. (The deliciousness certainly helps the thankfulness, too.)
Campamento Alto, from the high reaches of Huehuetenango, Guatemala, is one of our longest-running coffees here at CREMA. Aurelio Villatoro, along with his brother Juan, is a third generation coffee producer in Guatemala -- we are thankful to know Aurelio, and to witness his fervent commitment to growing outstanding coffees. Campamento Alto is one of Aurelio's farms, and the coffee he produces here is such a go-to crowd pleaser. The coffee charms with a rich, chocolate body, and woos with a delicate honey and snappy green apple finish. It's a coffee perfect for any weather -- and for those quiet, mug-in-hand thankful moments.
